Good Morning, Vietnam – My 4th of July Tribute to the Movie and Its Songs

I believe that it was in the movie Good Morning Vietnam that Robin Williams fully caught my attention. I have decided to review a few of  my favorite war movies as a way to celebrate the men who have helped America to remain free. Good Morning Vietnam is not at all the best of those movies, but it was about the war that was fought when kids my age were forced to be soldiers and fight. It is a movie about my youth, and it has some great music from that age. In fact, the soundtrack from the movie won a Grammy award.

Robin Williams was nominated for an Oscar in the category: Best Actor in a Leading Role, and he did win a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture or Comedy. He also won the Best Actor Award in the American Comedy Awards.

Good Morning, Vietnam is not a penetrating drama, but for people my age, it is a musical treat. It is also a great way to remember Robin Williams at his best.

Songs from the Good Morning, Vietnam Soundtrack

Nowhere to Run

I Get Around

Game of Love

Sugar and Spice

I Got You, I Feel Good

Baby, Please Don’t Go

Five O’Clock World
